Jerrie Hoody Pattern

My design ideas and advice: This design is another updated version from a book I designed in 2008, all the way back in the day before pdfs!  It’s one of my favourites and I have just made a few changes to make the knitting flow, so you as the knitter may pick up your needles and relax with the soothing stitches.
All of my patterns are easy to knit to your chosen length and for an experienced knitters this is simple to do, however for this one I’ve included two length options for the body and the sleeves. So if you fancied this hoody but wanted longer sleeves, well you can do that as I’ve included longer length instructions in the pattern!

As you can see I have always loved this type of stitch pattern and have used it for many, many years! I’ve used variations of it in many other designs too, like the Tom Jumper, Leannan Jumper, Ravenscar Jumper, Ravenscar Cardigan and Hubberholme Jumper for kids, to name a few!
This jumper is knitted in pieces with seams with knit and purl stitches.

For this pattern I used:

Yarn & Amounts: 4(5:6:7:8:9) 100g hanks of WYS Bluefaced Leicester DK (100% Bluefaced Leicester wool, 225m/246yds per 100g) for short length & short sleeves version.
OR
6(7:8:8:9:10) 100g hanks of WYS Bluefaced Leicester DK for long length & long sleeves version.

Needles: 3.75mm knitting needles.
4mm knitting needles.

Gauge (tension): 22 stitches and 30 rows to 10cm/4ins square over garter stitch rib pattern using 4mm needles.
