For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts: One 50g ball of 4 ply weight yarn.
Metres: Approx. 85m for newborn up to 170m for adult.
My Alternative Yarn Suggestions & Amounts: WYS Signature 4 Ply One 100g ball will make one adult hat and at least two babies or children or two adult hats.
Needles: 3mm and 3.25mm.
Gauge (tension): 22 stitches and 38 rows to 10cm square over lace pattern using 3.25mm needles.
Sizes: There are four sizes in this pattern – newborn, baby, child, adult.
My design ideas and advice: This delicate lace hat is the perfect gift for the new loved one in the family. The lace pattern is a simple one to get into the rhythm with, it might take a few repeats and a little patience, but once mastered it is fun. With any of my pattern repeats I like to have a row where you have to concentrate then, what I call, a row off, where you can just relax, this is the purl row. The hat comes in four sizes, the first size is for a newborn, the second size is for an older baby, the third size is for a child and the fourth size is for an adult.
