Child’s Reindeer Sweater Pattern

For this pattern you need:

Yarn: 4(4:5:6) 50g balls of aran weight yarn in shade A and
One 50g ball of aran weight yarn in shade B and 1(2:2:2) 50g ball(s) of aran weight yarn in shade C.

Metres for shade A: 248(248:310:372)m.
Metres for shade B: 62m.
Metres for shade C: 62(124:124:124)m.

My Alternative Yarn Suggestions & Amounts: The Croft Shetland Colours Aran 2(2:3:4) 100g hanks in shade A and One 100g hank each in shade B and shade C, or Kilcarra Tweed or WYS Bluefaced Leicester Aran – Dyed 3(3:4:5) 50g balls in shade A, One 50g ball in shade B and 1(2:2:2) 50g ball(s) in shade C.

Needles: 5mm.

Notions: 3(3:3:4) buttons.

Gauge (tension): 18 stitches and 24 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch using 5mm needles.

My design ideas and advice: Children will love the Christmassy feeling that comes with wearing a snuggly jumper complete with Rudolph the red nose reindeer!

This is a simple pattern that uses the intarsia technique. For anyone who hasn’t tried intarsia before this is the best way to start or, for those that have, it’s so simple it can be knitted up ready in time for Christmas!
