For this pattern I used:

Yarn & Amounts:One 100g hank in WYS Bluefaced Leicester DK – Dyed (100% Bluefaced Leicester Wool, 225m/246yds per 100g) in shade A (Berry 1036).
One 100g hank each of WYS Bluefaced Leicester DK – Dyed in shade B (Light brown 002) and shade C (Forest 1039).
The mittens use the leftover yarn from the hat.

Metres for shade A: approx. 180m.
Metres for each of shade B and shade C: approx. 90m.

Needles: 3.75mm and 4mm.

Gauge (tension): 22 stitches and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch using 4mm needles.

Size: To fit average adult head and hands.

My design ideas and advice: I love the reindeers dancing around the hat all excited for the coming festive season, while keeping your head lovely and warm on those winter walks. After I finished the hat, I still had enough yarn left over to make the mittens – perfect for knitters who want to try out fair isle knitting.
