My design ideas and advice: This lovely jumper uses very simple rib and cable patterns but the design makes them look more complicated than they really are. This is one of the best things about knitting: simple stitches used in simple patterns can create beautiful effects. And if fancied this in an adult size then…ta dah! I’ve designed a version in an adult size in my Simple Knits book.
For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts: 2(3:3:4:4) 100g hanks of WYS Bluefaced Leicester DK – Undyed (100% Bluefaced Leicester wool, 225m/246yds per 100g).
Metres: 430(550:660:780:890)m.
Needles: 3.75mm and 4mm.
Notions: 3(3:4:4:4) buttons.
Gauge (tension): 25 stitches and 30 rows to 10cm/4ins square over cable pattern using 4mm needles.
