My design ideas and advice: This is a super simple hat pattern that is great to practise your purl with, if you are a beginner. It looks fab on everyone and reminds me of a 1920s Cloche. I love the fashion style of that decade and it’s fab that you can easily knit a hat that can look so stylish.
For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts: One 100g hank of WYS The Croft Shetland Aran (100% Shetland wool, 166m/182yds per 100g).
Needles: 5mm.
Gauge (tension): 18 stitches and 24 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch when using 5mm needles.
Size: To fit an average size head.
