MY DESIGN IDEAS AND ADVICE
This cushion is such fun to knit — it looks far more complicated than it really is!
There are two versions included in the pattern. The first uses three shades for a bold, striking effect. If you’re new to working with multiple colours, you might like to start with the simpler two-shade version — just as beautiful and a little easier to manage.
There are endless colour combinations to play with. I used natural undyed yarns for the sample in the pattern photos, but I’ve loved seeing all the colourful versions that knitters have shared. So much creativity in one cushion!
CONSTRUCTION
Knitted flat from the bottom up in one piece, folded and then the side seams are joined together.
TECHNIQUES USED
Cast on, knit, purl, slip stitch (mosaic) colourwork, buttonholes and cast off. Joining seams. Sewing on buttons. Optional but recommended to create the feeling of joy when joining your seams: mattress stitch.
