My design ideas and advice: I love playing about, designing with ribs and cables. I also enjoy playing with decreases, making sure the stitches follow the line of decreases smoothly.
I think I knitted this ‘simple’ little tank top about four or five times to get the detail exactly right. I wanted the cables to follow up and over and down the back so I had to make sure the rib pattern was the correct repeat. This pattern was definitely one that challenged my designer’s mind! I wanted it to be simple and easy to knit so there aren’t any edges to pick up – remember this when joining in new balls.
