Philippa Jumper Pattern

My design ideas and advice: “My first jumper” is another name for the Philippa Jumper as it’s a great pattern for beginners. Or it could be called “My first Jumper after 20 years or so of not knitting”
There is minimal shaping. The back hasn’t got any shaping so perfect to get used to the knit stitch and needles without thinking of doing anything else.
I enjoy knitting garter stitch. At the end of a really busy day when I’ve been rushing about here, there and everywhere, or have had been using the computer all day, all I want to do is sit down and relax without having to think. Garter stitch is my ‘go to’ stitch for days like this. It’s perfect for knitting one or two rows while I wait for my supper to cook.
If you fancied an even more simple jumper then take a look at the York Sweater where there isn’t any picking up of the neck stitches.
I wear my Philippa Jumper almost every day in the winter so if you’ve popped in to the Skipton Studio in those months you might have seen me wearing it! I used the Croft Shetland Aran.
