For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts: One 100g hank of WYS The Croft Shetland Tweed Aran (100% Shetland Island Wool, 166m/182yds per 100g).
My Yarn Suggestion & Amounts: WYS Bluefaced Leicester Aran – Undyed One 100g hank or Kilcarra Tweed Two 50g balls.
Metres: 166m.
Needles: 4.5mm and 5mm.
Notions: Cable needle.
Gauge (tension): 25 stitches and 26 rows to 10cm square over cable pattern when slightly stretched using 5mm needles.
Size: to fit average size head.
My design ideas and advice: I’ve named the cable on this hat heart because to me the cables look like intertwining upside down hearts. They are pouring all their love on to the hat wearer. I have a few cable designs that I prefer and this is one of them. I love the way the stitches seem to travel across the knitting and then join together like they are coming together for a kiss!
