I love a cable hand knit, they are timeless. This one is a very simple one to knit. I design my cables so they work together which means after a few repeats the knitter can just sit back and get into a rhythm of soothing stitches.
This cardigan is another Purl &Jane Studio request – I have designed a child’s cable cardigan, Rukin Cable Cardigan and with probably all of my children’s patterns I get requests for an adult size, and this time with pockets!
For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts: 7(8:9:9:10) 100g hanks of WYS Bluefaced Leicester Aran – Undyed (100% British Bluefaced Leicester wool, 166m/182yds per 100g).
Metres: 1120(1280:1440:1440:1600)m
Needles: 4.5mm and 5mm.
Notions: 6 Buttons.
Gauge (tension): 18 stitches and 24 rows to 10cm/4ins square over stocking stitch using 5mm needles.
