CONSTRUCTION
This hat is knitted flat from the bottom up in one piece with a seam.
TECHNIQUES USED
Cast on, knit, purl, decreasing.
(Optional but recommended to create the feeling of joy when joining your pieces: mattress stitch.)
GAUGE (tension)
18 stitches and 28 rows to 10cm square over rib pattern when slightly stretched. I obtained this gauge with 4.5mm needles. It is important to obtain gauge so do swatch and change your needle size to achieve the correct gauge if you need to.
SIZE & FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
To fit adult head
Due to the nature of the rib pattern and individual gauges, the finished circumference can vary from 50cm to 60cm. At the gauge above, finished circumference is approximately 55cm.
