:: Three 50g balls of Soft Donegal Chunky in shade 5317 Mourne (super dark green).
:: 6mm bamboo needles.
Gauge (tension):14 stitches and 19 rows to 10cm square over rib pattern when using 6mm needles.
Size: to fit an adult head.
My design ideas and advice: The Caspian Hat has proved to be a very popular pattern and I’ve seen many different shades and yarns used for this pattern – which is always a joy to see! A common question is can I knit this hat in another weight yarn, and that is why I designed the Kura Hat (a DK version but knitted in the round). And another request has been for a chunky version, so here it is! This chunky version is perfect for experienced knitters who have a chilly head and want a hat quickly. Or for those knitting presents for friends and family and one they can just sit and relax with. While for beginners this is a great hat to learn working with knit and purl in a row.
