Martha Mat & Coaster Pattern

This single pattern is available as a download.

For this pattern I used:

Yarn & Amounts: One 50g ball each of dk weight yarn in shades A, shade B and shade C.
This amount of yarn makes 3 mats and 6 coasters.

Metres for each shade115m/125yds.

Needles: 4mm.

Gauge (tension): 32 stitches and 48 rows to 10cm square over pattern using 4mm needles.

Measurements: Mat 22.5cm x 20cm,
Coaster 10cm x 10cm.

My design advice and ideas: I love this stitch. It is so simple to knit but looks very tricky. It lends itself perfectly to placemats and coasters. It can be knitted in any shades to compliment the kitchen, lounge or dining room. They also make a great new home gift.
