My design ideas and advice: This design uses my favourite colour work technique, the slip stitch (or some of you might know it as mosaic) I love it so much as it is so easy to create a fairisle look but without the need to swap shades along the round.
This tank top is knitted in the round, so a perfect one to start off your knitting in the round journey and to prepare you for a fairisle garment. It’s the first step on that ladder.
And if you are an experienced knitter it is an easy one to get used to the repeats and the rhythm. So one to just sit back and relax with.
I used four different shades in this pattern but it is simple to swap shades or just use two shades for a monochrome look. Whatever colour calls to you, go with!
For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts: 5(6:6:7:8) 50g balls of Mohair Tweed (70% merino/30% mohair, 110m/120yds per 50g).
Needles: 3.25mm circular needle 4mm circular needle. 80cm length for the first three sizes and 100cm for the last two sizes.
Gauge (tension): 21 stitches and 42 rows to 10cm/4ins square over pattern using 4mm needles.
