*this is a free download. If you wanted just the printed pattern this is available from the Skipton studio for £2 or it is free when purchasing yarn to crochet the pattern.

My design ideas and advice: Like with knitting, sometimes an experience crocheter just wishes to have some mindless calming crochet. Or for a beginner they would just like a simple pattern to work on those double crochets until they feel just right. I found, when I was learning crochet that the yarn made all the difference between pleasure and frustration! The yarn I used for this simple double crochet scarf was sublime, it was perfect to crochet with and feels like butter.
This short scarf only takes one hank to crochet and so it’s perfect to trying the yarn out and hopefully realising how great it is! Or if you are looking at your stash this pattern is great to use up those odd balls of yarn, or use more yarn to make a longer scarf.

For this pattern I used:

Yarn & Amounts: One 100g ball of WYS Fable Aran.

Hook : 5mm.

Gauge (tension):  14 dc and 16 rows to 10cm square over double crochet using 5mm hook.

Size: approx. 16cm wide x 82cm long.

The pattern for experienced crocheters: The pattern is super easy so for some you can do this will just the very basic instructions of chain 20 stitches and work dc into all the stitches.
The download pattern is more beginner friendly with more instructions.
