MY DESIGN IDEAS AND ADVICE
This sleeveless top is knitted from the bottom up in the round and then worked in rows when you split for the front and back at the armholes. It’s a lovely project to start your knitting in the round journey – and because there are no stitches to pick up, it’s a simple, easy-to-knit design. It’s also a lovely relaxed knit to wear that transforms any outfit.

For more experienced knitters, it’s a relaxing knit you can pick up and enjoy at any time. There’s a plain knit round followed by a round with a little knit and purl detail – one of my favourite rib textures, which you’ll spot in several of my patterns. I love playing around with this stitch technique on the garment and there are small details that make this top so joyous to knit.

CONSTRUCTION
The back and front are knitted in the round in one piece from the bottom up, then divided to knit the back and then front in rows. There are no stitches to pick up.

TECHNIQUES USED
Knitting in the round and rows. Cast on, knit, purl, decreasing at the neck shaping, cast off. Joining shoulder seams. Optional but recommended to create the feeling of joy when joining your pieces: three needle cast off.
