Description
For this pattern I used:
Yarn: One 100g hank of Superchunky weight yarn.
Or you can use two strands of aran weight yarn held together.
Metres:Â 105m.
Needles:Â 10mm.
Gauge (tension): 10 stitches and 18 rows to 10cm square over rib pattern when stretched using 10mm needles.
Measurements:Â to fit an average sized head.
Construction: Knitted flat in one piece from the bottom up with one seam.
Techniques Used: Cast on, knit, purl, yarn overs, lace pattern, decreasing. Joining one seam. Optional but recommended to create the feeling of joy when joining your pieces: mattress stitch.
My design ideas and advice: This delicate lace pattern looks beautiful and different when knitted in super chunky yarn. I designed it to match the Witu Scarf, using the same lace stitch – simple, satisfying and surprisingly quick to grow.
It’s an ideal weekend project for experienced knitters and a great confidence booster for beginners looking to try lace for the first time.
