I am excited to introduce you to a fun project to start your crochet journey with. It takes 4 balls of Purl &Jane Supermerino yarn to make – that is two balls in shade A and two balls in shade B – and uses a 12mm hook. It’s a quick fun weekend project for an experienced crocheter to add colour and texture to their winter wardrobe, or the perfect project to get beginners used to the hook and how to do a double crochet.
I personally loved relaxing with the scarf after crazily busy days!
I caught the shade I wasn’t working with up the side of the scarf on every right side row, so I didn’t have to cut the yarn for each stripe. It does show on one side of the scarf but it is hidden away when wearing it in the curl and it does save sewing in ends.
For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts: Two 100g balls each of Purl &Jane Supermerino in shade A and shade B.
Hook: 12mm.
Gauge (tension): 8 dc x 7 rows to 10cm square over dc pattern using 12mm hook.
Measurements: 18cm wide x approx. 184cm (including the pom poms)
The pattern for experienced crocheters: The pattern is super easy so for some you can do this will just the very basic instructions of chain 14 stitches and work dc into all the stitches, change shades every 12 rows.
The download pattern is more beginner friendly with more instructions.
