For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts: One 100g hank of WYS Bluefaced Leicester Aran – Undyed (100% Bluefaced Leicester wool, 166m/182yds per 100g).
Metres: Approx. 100m
My Alternative Yarn Suggestions & Amounts: The Croft Shetland Tweed Aran one 100g hank, or Kilcarra Tweed two 50g balls.
Needles: 5mm.
Notions: Two stitch holders.
Gauge (tension): 18 stitches and 24 rows to 10cm/4ins square over pattern when stretched using 5mm needles.
Size: To fit small to large hand.
My design ideas and advice: These mittens were designed for my first ever Purl &Jane Retreat in October 2018. They use the same pattern as the Bempton Jumper and Strickland Socks – my favourite cable and rib pattern. They are knitted on straight needles and have a seam to sew up.
