When this popular workshop runs on a Sunday morning, we squeeze a lot into the time! Having a full day Monday workshop means I can show you more and we can steadily learn the techniques so you can confidently use them on all those finished pieces that are hiding in that bag or in that corner!

I love sewing my knitted items together! I treat my knitted pieces as knitting and sew together as such, rather than treat them like cloth and then get disappointed with uneven edges. When you treat a hand knit as a hand knit, the picking up of stitches and sewing together is the most fun! I share these techniques in this class so sewing up becomes a joy.

Skills learnt: This full day class covers reading a pattern, the importance of tension, decreasing and increasing, how to pick up stitches, live stitches and reading your knitting, use different sewing up techniques for stocking stitch, garter stitch and moss stitch, join a cast off edge to a side seam; graft (live) stitches using (a) knitting needles and (b) a wool/tapestry needle; cast off buttonholes; wrap a stitch when shaping shawl collars; and the importance of tension, substituting yarns and different plys of yarns.

Materials included in cost: Pattern, refreshments and lunch at Two Sisters, a local independent cafe that serves beautifully home cooked food.

Materials to bring: 3.75mm and 4mm needles, scissors, darning needle and pen and paper if you wanted to make notes.
