For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts: One 100g hank of WYS Bluefaced Leicester DK – Undyed (100% Bluefaced Leicester Wool, 225m/246yds per 100g) in shade A
& One 100g hank each of WYS Bluefaced Leicester DK – Dyed, in shade B and shade C
Needles: 4mm.
Tension: 22 stitches and 44 rows to 10cm square over garter stitch using 4mm needles.
Measurements: One square measures approx. 13cm x 13cm.
Finished blanket measures approx. 51cm x 58cm.
My design ideas and advice: I designed this blanket for knitters who had an arrival to the family due in several months and wanted to knit something but hadn’t knitted before or for a while. This is the perfect way to get back into knitting. Simple squares. They are also great to knit when the new baby arrives as they are easy to pick up and put down. So if what you think is going to be an hour of quiet time turns into 10 minutes it easy to put the knitting down and not lose your place when you come to pick it up again!
It is also very satisfying for an experienced knitter as they can easily knit one square comfortably in an evening while watching a film and see their little pile of squares grow.
