My design ideas and advice: I love this rib pattern. It’s so simple, yet it looks so effective. I’ve set the position of the decrease on the raglans one stitch in from the edge, and then on the wrong side these edge two stitches are purl to create a lovely smooth edge – which makes sewing up much easier. There is a tricky moment when picking up the stitches for the neck: I like it when the stitch pattern continues smoothly into the collar. Knitters who popped into the Skipton studio used to comment they would knit this jumper if it was available in an adult size. And it is! You can knit your own version, it’s called the Kyle Jumper. And then if you fancied it in a jacket with a hood then there is the Kyle the Hoodie!
Or if you just fancied having a go at the stitch then you can try that out with the Rice Rib Scarf.
