This single pattern is available as a download.

For this pattern I used:

Yarn & Amounts: For long version: One 100g hank of WYS Bluefaced Leicester DK (100% British Bluefaced Leicester Wool, 225m/245yds per 100g)
For short version: One 50g ball of Merino 120 DK  (100% Merino Wool, 120m/120yds per 50g)

Metres for long version: approx. 150m.
Metres for short version: approx. 110m.

Needles: 4mm circular needle (40cm length) and set of four double pointed 4mm needles for both versions.
And 3.25mm circular needle (40cm length) for short version only.

Gauge (tension): 22 stitches and 26 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch using 4mm needles.

Size: to fit adult head.

My design ideas and advice: This is a classic beanie hat – nice, easy to knit, a true classic.
A great project to learn how to knit in the round with. And if you are an experienced “round knitter” it’s a quick gift to knit up or to weekend project.
There isn’t any sewing up, except securing those last 6 stitches, a great knit for those who don’t like sewing up (though I can show you the joy of joining seams on my Professional Finishing workshop…I promise I can show you the joy)
I wear my Jordan Hat all through the winter…and autumn….and some spring days! It is keeps you at the right temperature and keeps those chilly winds away. I don’t notice I have it on, until I don’t!
