For this pattern I used:

Yarn & Amounts: One 50g hank of dk weight yarn.

Metres: 60m.

My Alternative Yarn Suggestions & Amounts: WYS Illustrious Naturals DK One 100g hank, or Mohair Tweed  One 50g Ball.

Needles: Set of four double pointed 3.25mm needles.

Gauge (tension): 24 stitches and 32 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch using 3.75mm needles.

Size: 1-2 year(s) old This a magical size and the cast on amount will fit a child up to 5 years old by adjusting the foot length. I’ve highlighted where to do this in the pattern.

My design ideas and advice: I love this little sock. It’s the perfect sock for your little ones to wear under wellies to keep their feet warm as they play in the snow or jump in puddles. This is a magical sock and the cast on amount will fit children up to the age of 5 years old, the only bit to change to get the length correct for your child’s foot is the bit in shape instep where it says …’until foot measures 6cm/21⁄4ins (or your desired length)’. Here you knit until you react the length of your child’s foot from the ankle to about 2.5cm/1in from end of their toes.
