For this pattern I used:

Yarn & Amounts: Five 50g balls of Kilcarra Tweed (100% Pure New Wool, 80m per 50g)

Metres: 400m.

My Alternative Yarn Suggestions & Amounts: The Croft Shetland Colours Aran Three 100g hanks, or WYS Bluefaced Leicester Aran – Undyed Three 100g hanks.

Needles: 4.5mm knitting needles.

Notions: Cushion pad to fit (approx. 35cm x 45cm)
Four buttons (size is approx. 20mm in diameter)

Tension: 17 stitches and 28 rows to 10cm/4ins square over narrow rib pattern using 4.5mm needles.

Measurements: 33cm x approx. 92cm.

My design ideas and advice: This pattern uses the same rib pattern as the Pengelly Jumper from my Simple Knits book. I love a stitch pattern like this one that has a row of knit. It’s a simple rib pattern that has the subtle difference of a knit row to create a beautiful texture. This is definitely a relaxing stitch pattern to do – you can complete a few rows here and there to calm your mind during hectic moments or it’s the perfect knitting to do while watching television!
