Stannington Cardigan Pattern

£4.50

This single pattern is available as a download.

For this pattern I used:

Yarn & Amounts: 5(6:6:7:8) 100g hanks of WYS Bluefaced Leicester DK (100% British BlueFaced Leicester Wool 100g/225m/246yds)

Needles: 3.75*mm and 4mm.
*I used a long circular to pick up the stitches for the neck edge. It doesn’t have to be super long, I used 60cm for the first size so 80cm would be OK for the other sizes.

Notions: 3 Buttons.

Gauge (tension): 23 stitches and 28 rows to 10cm/4ins square over pattern using 4mm needles.

My design ideas and advice: This is a design that I have been wanting to design for a few years. It is a simple v neck cardigan but sometimes the simplest of designs takes the longest to do. It’s those simple little details that need the time to blossom in the stitches.

This cardigan uses my favourite stitch pattern, I’ve used it in Heaton Tank Top, Ravenscar Jumper and Hubberholme Child’s Jumper. It is a lovely stitch to just sit and relax with. Perfect for beginners wanting to progress to the next stage and a great ‘refresher’ knit for experienced knitters who just want to sit with some mindless knitting.
