Nora Sleeveless Gansay Pattern

My design ideas and advice: The Nora Sleeveless Gansay was first published in 2018 and is the first Purl &Jane garment that is knitted in the round.
It is knitted from the bottom up. The bottom part of the gansay uses just the knit stitch with rib at the sides, so is perfect if this is your first time knitting in the round. It then divides for the front and back, which are then knitted in rows. This top section takes a little time to get used to the pattern. So if you fancied knitting in the round without the tricky stitches at the top then there are two more patterns to choose from – Bray Tank Top and Fabrile Tank Top.
This sleeveless top uses the same cable and stitch pattern as the Woodhouse Gansay (The Woodhouse Gansay is knitted in pieces)
The Nora is inspired, like the Woodhouse, by my total and absolute love for fisherman’s gansays. The history and why they were made is what knitting means to me – a personal hand knitted garment that keeps the wearer warm, dry and surrounded with a feeling of being loved.

For this pattern I used:
