My design ideas and advice: I love these socks, to me they are the ultimate cosy soothing sock to wear on a chilly winter’s night. On one of those nights were warmth and comfort are needed and this can come in the form of a soothing sock. Sometimes it’s the small simple things that make all the difference.
I named this pattern Tra because it is the Irish for beach and the ridges on the sock remind me of the ridges the sea makes on the beach as it laps the shore. The Mohair Tweed is a gorgeous yarn to knit with, it has colours that twinkle at you as you knit each stitch.

For this pattern I used:

Yarn & Amounts: Two 50g balls of Mohair Tweed (70% merino & 30% mohair, 110m/120yds per 50g) in shade A (shade 2640 Nathrach) and one 50g ball in shade B (shade 2639 Henbane).

Metres for shade A: 220m.
Metres for shade B: approx. 68m.

Needles: Set of four double pointed 3.25mm knitting needles.
Set of four double pointed 3.75mm knitting needles.

Tension: 20 stitches and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch when using 3.75mm needles.

Measurements: to fit UK size 5 (or desired foot length as highlighted in the pattern.  If you are knitting the foot length longer than size 6 then you will need a 3rd ball of shade A).
