Pip Longsocks Pattern

For this pattern I used:

Yarn & Amounts: Two 100g hanks of WYS Bluefaced Leicester Aran – Undyed (100% British Bluefaced Leicester wool, 166m/182yds per 100g) in shade A (shade 04 Natural Variegated) and
One 100g hank of WYS Bluefaced Leicester Aran – Undyed (100% British Bluefaced Leicester wool, 166m/182yds per 100g) in shade B (shade 03 Natural Brown).

Metres for shade A: approx. 300m.
Metres for shade B: approx. 150m.

My Alternative Yarn Suggestions & Amounts: The Croft Shetland Tweed Aran Two 100g hanks for shade A and one 100g hank for shade B, or Kilcarra Tweed  Four 50g balls for shade A and two 50g balls for shade B.

Needles: Set of four double pointed 4.5mm knitting needles.

Gauge (tension): 19 stitches and 26 rows to 10cm/4ins square over stocking stitch using 4.5mm needles.

Size: The pattern is written for UK size 4-6 but will fit all foot lengths when knitted to the desired length as indicated in the pattern.

My design ideas and advice: Someone came into my shop and asked if I did long socks.  I didn’t at the time but I do now!  Great to wear with wellies or just for lounging in.  I will be wearing them in the winter months with my pyjamas!
