This single pattern is available as a download.

For this pattern I used:

Yarn & Amounts: Two 50g balls of Kilcarra Tweed (100% Pure New Wool, 80m/87yds per 50g) or
One 100g hank of WYS Bluefaced Leicester Aran – Undyed (100% Bluefaced Leicester wool, 166m/182yds per 100g)

Metres: 160m.

Needles (for Kilcarra Tweed version): Set of four double pointed needles in 4mm and 4.5mm.
Needles (for Bluefaced Leicester version): Set of four double pointed needles in 4.5mm and 5mm.

<Gauge (tension): 18 stitches and 24 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch using 4.5mm (or 5mm for Bluefaced Leicester) needles.

Size: to fit average sized hand.

My design ideas and advice: These simple mittens are knitted on double pointed needles so the only seam to sew up is on the thumb. If you haven’t knitted mittens before or used dpns (see my video link below for advice on them) these are the perfect mittens to start with. And when you’ve knitted them you will feel so happy of your new skills! As always I am here to help. For experienced knitters these are great for a quick or easy project to knit for a gift or to keep your hands warm with natural fibres, the only way to keep warm.

Blog Post: I’ve written about the Millie Mittens on my blog, click here to read it and click here to read about the yarn I chose.
