Love Cushion Pattern

My design ideas and advice: This is a lovely cushion to give to the one you love or for yourself to know that love is always around you. It is great for learning to follow a chart, whether that is using different stitches or using the intarsia technique with colour changes.
I designed this cushion for my June 2019 retreat. This weekend summer retreat was purely a retreat to relax and share laughter and joy. As always when a group of knitters get together we learnt lots of new techniques and things to improve or relax with our knitting, things we didn’t know we even needed! Sometimes it’s lovely to know that “everyone does that” or that the odd stitch here and there is perfectly OK and it’s wrong.  The cushion I knitted at the retreat is on my sofa, it is a daily reminder of the joyous June retreat.

For this pattern I used:

Yarn & Amounts: One 100g hank of WYS Bluefaced Leicester Aran – Undyed (100% Bluefaced Leicester, 166m/182yds per 100g) &
One 100g hank of WYS Croft Shetland Aran (100% Shetland wool, 166m/182yds per 100g)

Metres: 150-160m in the main shade and 20m in the contrast shade.

Needles: 5mm.

Additional materials: Stuffing. I used about 100g of wool tops stuffing.

Measurements: for one square: approx. 16.5cm wide x 13cm long.
