For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts: One 100g hank of WYS The Croft Shetland Tweed Aran (100% Shetland Island Wool, 166m/182yds per 100g) and Two 50g balls of WYS Bluefaced Leicester Aran – Dyed (100% British BlueFaced Leicester Wool, 50g/83m/91yds).
Metres: There is enough yarn to make two hats, one short version and one long version by swapping aroudn what is shade A and what is shade B.
Gauge (tension): 18 stitches and 28 rows to 10cm square over rib pattern when slightly stretched using 5mm needles.
Size: to fit average size head.
My design ideas and advice: This hat was designed in response to a request from a knitter who is knitting the Emmen Jumper and loved the pattern so much she wanted a hat too. So I’ve designed the Emmen Hat for her, and everyone else who loves the Emmen Jumper. And the best thing is that two 100g hanks is enough to make two hats by switching what was shade A to shade B. So you have the joy of knitting..twice! And then the joy of giving to a friend or loved one to let them know you are thinking of them. Enjoy!
