My design ideas and advice:  This is a great quick and simple knit, a great project for beginners or a quick weekend project for experienced knitters who need a moment or two of pure simple stitches. I made it a bit different by using two strands of of aran weight yarn together. I like the effect when using a natural with a bright shade however the colour combinations are endless and I’ve seen many lovely variations.
And if you are a beginner who wanted to improve your skills and are ready I designed Dave The Hat in the same way!
I’ve made two videos to help you start on your Davina Scarf. I’ve used a circular needle in the videos which I do recommend but you can use straights too, the scarf is knitted in rows.

For this pattern I used:

Yarn & Amounts: One 100g hank of WYS Bluefaced Leicester Aran – Undyed (100% Bluefaced Leicester wool, 166m/182yds per 100g) for shade A  and
One 100g hank of  The Croft Shetland Aran  (100% Shetland Wool, 166m/182yds per 100g) for shade B.
The two strands of aran are held together when knitted.

Needles: 9mm.

Gauge (tension): 10 stitches and 18 rows to 10cm square over garter stitch with one strand of yarn A and one strand of yarn B together using 9mm needles.

Measurements: 19cm wide x 112 cm long.
