Two 100g hanks of Bluefaced Leicester DK in shade B.
Metres for shade A: Approx. 660m.
Metres for shade B: Approx. 330m.
Hook: 4mm.
Measurements: Each square measures approx. 20cm x 20cm.
The finished blanket size is approx. 82cm x 82cm (4 x 4 squares).
My design ideas and advice: This simple crochet blanket uses the basic granny square as it’s inspiration and then I’ve played around with the structure to create a more solid square. This pattern is one of eight patterns that I designed to launch especially at Yarndale 2017 . I named all the patterns using Irish words, Aimsir (AM-shir) is the Irish word for weather, time, season – elements that surround us, like a blanket.

*the yarn I used for this pattern has been discontinued (a 2020 pandemic casualty) and so I’ve suggested WYS Bluefaced Leicester DK as a substitute. I’ve helped visitors to my studio pick shades in this yarn for this pattern and it looked fab!
