For this pattern I used:
Yarn & Amounts: One 100g ball of Merino 150 4PLY (100% merino wool, 150m/164yds per 50g).
Metres: Approx. 9-10g/35m for the first size and
Approx. 22g/88m for the second size.
Needles: Set of four double pointed 2.5mm needles.
Gauge (tension): 30 stitches and 42 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch using 2.5mm needles.
Measurements (suggested sizes): First size to fit 0-3 months with foot length of 8.5cm and
Second size to fit from 9 months with foot length of 12cm.
(The second size is a magical size and the cast on amount will fit a child up to 7 years old by adjusting the foot length. I’ve highlighted where to do this in the pattern.)
My design ideas and advice: These little socks are perfect for using up any yarn left over from knitting adult socks. In fact you can knit baby and mummy or daddy or you or another family relative or friend matching socks with the same yarn!
