My design ideas and advice: This simple garter stitch jacket is perfect for new knitters or for those coming back to knitting and want to try out their skills on a straight forward easy pattern. This jacket is basic squares with a tiny bit of shaping and without any stitches to pick up at the neck. With this in mind, make sure the front edges are neat and join in any new balls at the side seams. Love this jacket and wish it came in an adult size? It does! I designed Halyard in Simple Knits especially for those who wished the Leighton Jacket was not just in child sizes!
If you fancied a version with a hood or not sure if you do, try the Hazle Jacket instead. It is the same as the Leighton Jacket but with the option of a hood.
